Highway of Tears explores a hidden and untold tale of addiction, abduction, and the violation of sex trafficking on the human spirit. Set in the fictional town of St. Wares within British Columbia's wilderness, the drama follows Jazzy — a young woman who risks everything to expose a predator and seek justice for the countless lives stolen along the infamous Highway 16.
This production is dedicated to the lives who have been lost, and the friends and families who have been touched by this deadly evil. Let us not rest until this criminal activity ceases and the heinous blemish is healed.
Highway of Tears is an adaptation of Youtheatre's earlier original play Just Outside of Hope, which toured several British Columbia communities in 2019.
