STORIES THAT

TRANSFORM LIVES.

YOUTHEATRE MOVEMENT SOCIETY

Investing in the future of our story through a culture of honour, trust, and respect.

HOW WE INTRODUCE STORY

APPRENTICESHIP

The Apprenticeship Program encourages students to focus on the rhythm and dynamics of dialogue, finding the natural cadence and intensity in speech to create compelling performances.

LIVE THEATRE

Live Theatre is an experience. It is a magical environment created by the Ensemble, who come together and create a world where spectators can be swept away and allow themselves to think freely, imagine freely, and let the metaphysical permeate, and do its job.

COMMUNITY EVENTS

Bannock Throwdown, StoryFest, Cabaret. These are a few of the community events that YouTheatre produces. These experiences bring people together to share their stories through art and food.

Community is of profound importance, especially when human lives are at stake, physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

With the use of Art to help people tell their Story, we help shape ideas into dances, dreams into songs, words into scripts, together our expression clothes the invisible.

UPCOMING EVENTS

Handcuffed 2024

This modern day morality story was written with absurd comedic edges coupled an a sobering look at the Opioid Crisis that still lingers here in Canada. Past audiences have experienced a full range of emotions, from deep belly laughs to metaphysical conundrums. “Handcuffed” stands the test of time as it used to help raise addiction awareness amongst senior youth and young adults in schools throughout North America, and how easy it is to become enamoured by a wolf in sheep’s clothing.

COM·PLIC·IT 2025

The Residential School era in Canada went under the radar for decades upon decades, and many wish it never happened. “COM·PLIC·IT” is a compelling story of how a young Indigenous girl befriends an unsuspecting teenage Prairie boy, and together explore how and why their paths are crossing even if it’s only for 48 hours. This untold tale of identity and hope only skims the surface surrounding the hidden and Complicit Residential School era, circa 1965.
