This award winning play was originally staged at the BC Drama Festival in 2017. That was the year the BC Government declared a “Public State of Health Emergency”, as overdoses increased from one per day to four per day. Here in 2024 our society is still suffering from what is now called an “Opioid Crisis”, with a fatality rate of 23 deaths per day in Canada alone.

HANDCUFFED …is a compelling story that captures the descent of a young hero dealing with severe bouts of addiction and whose life is about to unravel to the point of no-return.

The Youtheatre Movement Society is passionate about people and storytelling. Through our creative projects and partnering with public and private sponsors, we work closely with the builders and supporters of the community. By being relevant to today’s topical issues we relate with the marginalized people in our society, and together we inspire audiences to be effective within their community. We excel at live productions and apprenticeship training and believe “identity is seen through story.”

As a registered Educational Charity, we are able to provide tax receipts for all donations and donations-in-kind.

Our Donations Page is a safe and secure way to sponsor our efforts. Or check out our profile at Canada Helps.

We are always a phone call a way, if you would like to call and speak with us in person.
