Youtheatre Movement Society is promoting a touring production of Handcuffed, an award-winning play originally staged at the BC Drama Festival in 2017 — the same year the government declared a public health emergency around the opioid crisis.
The production tells a compelling story that captures the descent of a young hero dealing with severe substance abuse. Canada continues to face this challenge with approximately 23 deaths daily attributed to the opioid epidemic.
Youtheatre focuses on live theatrical productions and apprenticeship training, working with community sponsors and staying relevant to today's topical issues while serving marginalized populations.
